Eagle Watch
Sign Up to be an Eagle Watcher!
Based out of the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey, Audubon EagleWatch seeks volunteers to help monitor active Bald Eagle nests. As one of the premier community science programs in Florida, EagleWatch works to protect approximately 40% of the state's nesting pairs.
Your help in the EagleWatch program will provide valuable information on nesting activity and the current trends of eagle populations right here in Manatee County! As a volunteer, you’ll spend some time monitoring one or more eagle nests in Manatee County twice a month. These observation reports will help us understand how many nests are successful each year and monitor any potential disturbances to bald eagles during the breeding season (October to May). These observations will also contribute to the overall understanding of bald eagle success in the State of Floirda.
