Scholarships Available - Application Deadline is April 1, 2012

As part of our commitment to protecting the environment in our community, our state and our country, we are offering one or more scholarships for college-bound high school students. Students must reside in Manatee County and must plan to study environmental science, biology or another related field at the college level with the intention of pursuing the protection of birds, wildlife and the environment as a career. We must receive the completed application by April 1, 2012. Apply now!

Help Protect Florida's Special Places

As mentioned our December newsletter, you can help protect Florida's Special Places by volunteering not only for Felts Audubon Preserve but for other conservation projects.Be sure to nominate your favorite Special Place, too. Here are some links to get you started.

Description - Ride tram or walk trails to see thousands of birds in their winter home.

Saturday Jan. 28, 2012 - Felts Workday

Description - Workday hours are from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Come help to maintain your Preserve. We have volunteer opportunities for most physical levels and ages. Come out and learn more about plants and wildlife habitats. You do not need to stay the entire time; volunteer for as long as you are comfortable.

Galapagos Islands Trip!
